Join the Buy Local Berkeley Holiday Shopping Guide!
For the very first time ever, The Downtown Berkeley Association is partnering with Buy Local Berkeley and other business districts to launch a Berkeley holiday shopping campaign supported by a mobile app.
We want to include your business for FREE! You do not have to be a current member of Buy Local Berkeley to participate.
The 2012 Holiday Retail campaign will include a mobile coupon app powered by Chinook Book to promote and reward holiday shopping at locally owned businesses in Berkeley.
The "Shop Your Holidays in Berkeley" mobile app will be free for shoppers to download. The app will work on iPhone and Android devices and will contain all the offers from local businesses in the form of one-time-use coupons redeemable in your stores during November and December.
Your mobile coupon will look like this image to the left and it include all the popular Chinook Book features like geo-location and easy redemption. For an overview of the mobile app features visit http://bay.chinookbook.net/about-mobile/.
Buy Local Berkeley will be promoting these coupons throughout the East Bay through special holiday posters and postcards, and media ads in several Berkeley and East Bay publications.

Downtown Berkeley Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration

Come celebrate the start of the holiday season at the Downtown Berkeley Tree Lighting in BART Plaza on Friday, November 30th, with family-friendly festivities! Enjoy cookies and hot chocolate, listen to holiday music sung by UC Berkeley a capella groups, and join the Mayor in lighting the holiday tree in the heart of Downtown Berkeley. There will even be a visit from Santa Claus, so bring a camera to take a picture with the whole family!
