From Fr. Marty Solma

Dear Brothers:

2016 Chapter

This week, we received notification from Superior General Fr. Manuel Corts that the General Council has ratified the acts of the 2016 Provincial Chapter.

I reported on the Chapter about a month ago, and the decisions and referrals of the Chapter have now been ratified. The Superior General appreciated the care that was taken for the financial health of the Province, and he requested continued dialogue on the future of the District of India.

Changemakers

You have probably seen news about the upcoming conferences planned by the Marianist Social Justice Collaborative and our own JPIC Office: "Changemakers: Creating New Responses for New Times."

This worthwhile venture will bring together many members of the Marianist Family. Please consider attending in person or making use of the live-streaming option. Learn more.

If you are not able to participate, please pray for the success of these events.

Bicentennial

May 15 marks the official beginning of the Marianist Bicentennial celebrations, as members of the Marianist Sisters commemorate their foundation in Agen, France.

Please read the joint letter from Sr. Evangeline Escobar and me to the members of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate, the Society of Mary, and the wider Marianist Family.

Let us pray this week, especially, for the Marianist Sisters as they mark the 200th anniversary of their foundation. Rich blessings to them and heartfelt congratulations on this very special occasion.

Fraternally,

From Bro. Joe Kamis
