From Fr. Marty Solma
| Dear Brothers:
I arrived in St. Louis after a 74-hour journey from Ranchi, India. I won't share the gory details here, but I hope I never have to repeat it.
The visits to the Charism V program in Abidjan and the perpetual profession in Ranchi were fine experiences, rich and vibrant expressions of Marianist life. Bro. Dennis Schmitz and I also spent a full day with the Formation Team in the District of India and two full days with the District Council. I found both meetings productive, with mature discussion and decision-making.
Thank you
On behalf of the Province, I want to thank Fr. Chris Wittmann and Bro. Charles Johnson, and the entire novitiate community, for their fraternal care and generous service during the last days of Fr. Jack McGrath's life and during the memorial services. It was truly a brotherly expression of our common life. I also want to thank Bro. Mike O'Grady and the community at the Marianist Residence in San Antonio for their great support during the four funerals they had in the month of December. Special gratitude to Bro. Tom Cleary and the Province of Meribah for hosting the funeral of Fr. Jack and for being so generous with their time and resources.
March Chapter
The XXV session of the Provincial Chapter has been convoked for March 3-7 at MRCC in Eureka, Missouri. Propositions for the Provincial Chapter are due to the Office of the Assistant Provincial by Feb. 10, 2016. Read how to submit a proposition and more.

New document on the religious brother
Just released from Rome, in time for the closing of the Year for Consecrated Life, "The Identity and Mission of the Religious Brother in the Church" presents a renewed vision of consecrated life or religious life. "The fraternity of religious brothers is an encouragement for the whole church, because it makes present the gospel value of fraternal relationships of equality in the face of the temptation to dominate, to search for the best place or to exercise authority as power." (7.)
Read, print or save the document as a PDF file.
Sabbaticals
Province members who are considering a spiritual renewal or professional sabbatical during 2016-2017 should contact the appropriate provincial assistant no later than Feb. 11, 2016. Those seeking a professional or educational sabbatical should contact
