Dear Brothers,

This weekend, members of the Sector of Mexico will discuss plans for a new educational project in Quertaro. Please pray for our Mexican brothers and for their continued growth and development in their community life and mission.

Bros. Jos Luis, Juan Manuel and Juan Pablo

Three Mexican brothers will attend a program in January for temporary professed sponsored by CLAMAR in Bogot, Colombia. The three brothers are Juan Manuel Azamar, Jos Luis Gonzlez Molina and Juan Pablo Espinoza Chvez. Bro. Juan Manuel has been approved for perpetual vows, and his profession will take place early in 2016 after his period of preparation and the Bogot program.

We have lost two wonderful men this past week. Fr. Jim McKay has joined the angels and the saints after a long and productive life of love and ministry. Bro. Jim Wisecaver, who has had a hand in most of the new vocations since the merging of the Provinces, will be sorely missed by many who have worked with him. We commend both of these brothers to God's mercy and Mary's care.

Fraternally,

Dear Brothers:

Understanding sponsorship

This is the sixth in a series designed to help Province members understand the mission of the Office of Sponsorship, including the roles of its lay staff. This week we focus on Dan Donnelly, director of the Office of Sponsorship.

From Dan Donnelly

"My work focuses on building cooperative relationships with partners in mission and providing leadership and strategic oversight to the Office of Sponsorship team. Our collective Marianist vision is to be a collaborative, service-oriented team that adds value to the sponsorship relationship.

"My professional background is in business, having served in executive leadership roles for more than 30 years. I was ordained a permanent deacon in 2007 and am assigned to serve in my home parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manchester, Missouri. My introduction to the Marianists came through Fr. Oscar Vasquez, SM, who would occasionally celebrate Mass at my parish. I was drawn to Oscar's style of preaching and sense of spirituality, and I asked him to be my spiritual director. Mission integration initiative

A key dynamic of sponsorship is the "Four-Year Mission Integration" initiative with similar processes for schools and retreat centers.  Read a brief explanation.
