I am amazed at how busy it is at the start of a school year. Things are hopping at all the sponsored retreat centers, universities and schools. In the middle of this busyness, we pause and give thanks for all that is happening in our lives.
St. John Vianney High School (St. Louis) has received an
historic $1 million gift that will help their school make significant upgrades to its academic facilities in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Vianney also has been recognized by The Cardinal Newman Society on this year's Catholic High School Honor Roll as a 2014 School of Excellence.
Michael Hyde, a graduate of Chaminade College Prep (St. Louis) and the University of Dayton, is featured on the cover of Catholic St. Louis magazine. The magazine article describes Michael's two years of post-graduate service and what it means to live in faith.

Read an article about Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory (Hollywood, Fla.) from the summer issue of ALIVE magazine (page 10) called "Toward a Better World." It highlights almost 20 Chinese students attending the school's international student program. Please submit interesting school/retreat center story ideas for ALIVE magazine, which is sent to almost 100,000 Marianist friends and donors throughout the country.
