Fr. Larry Doersching has requested to step down as president of Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory in Hollywood, Fla., effective immediately. The Provincial Council has approved this request. Larry had announced his intent to retire at the end of the 2014-2015 school year, but due to his recent heart surgery and recovery, he felt he could no longer physically handle the responsibilities of president.
The Provincial Council will make final decisions about interim leadership in consultation with C-M's board. I have been working with Skip Farinhas, chair of the board of trustees. The search committee for a new president, established in January, will continue its work, with Bro. Jack Ventura as Province representative. Principal Teresita Wardlow
should be contacted with any questions about C-M.
We appreciate Larry's devoted service to C-M for six years, and send our prayers and best wishes for his full recovery. "C-M will continue to be a strong and vibrant school, pursuing its mission of academic excellence in a community of faith, and always 'working toward a better world,'" said Larry.
