Dear Brothers:

CONSULTATION FOR PROVINCIAL

In discussions with the General Administration concerning Province leadership, Fr. Manolo Corts will initiate a written consultation for the Office of Provincial in late October, with an appointment made by the end of November. This will be followed by a consultation for the Office of Assistant Provincial.

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION VISIT

We are preparing for the visit by the General Administration from Sept. 15 - Oct. 31 and Dec. 1 - 22. You have received dates for visits to individual communities. Area coordinators, community directors and ministry leaders soon will receive a letter with a request for assistance in scheduling special events and ministry visits as well as assisting with other details to make the visit of the GA successful. Please respond promptly so we can prepare a master list and give the GA time for preparations.

THE PITTSBURGH CATHOLIC

I've already shared with you the events in Pittsburgh after the report of Bernie Hartman's indictment in Australia. The Diocese sent two separate letters to alumni -- the first to those who had Bernie as a teacher; the second to all North Catholic alumni. In response to the allegations we have received concerning eight of our members from 1945 to 1990, I have written a letter which is being published this week in the Pittsburgh Catholic. Please continue to pray for these individuals and for the safety and security of those we serve in our ministries.

My Dear Brothers:

Andrew Giles will withdraw from the novitiate and return to Oregon in early June. We have appreciated Andrew's presence these past few years as he gave himself very seriously to this time of formation. We extend our best wishes and promise him our prayers as he discerns life's next steps.

From the Office of Communications

Last week Carol Dexter in the Office of Communications asked this question on the Marianist Family Facebook page:

We're willing to bet you have a favorite Marianist -- sister, priest or brother. What's the ONE word that best describes her or him?

More than 40 individuals responded. Read the list below (there was some duplication).
