From Fr. Bill Meyer

My Dear Brothers:

The Provincial Council has accepted the request of Justin Quiroz, 23, to enter the novitiate of the Society of Mary in Dayton at the end of July.

Justin is a native of Houston and a 2013 graduate of St. Mary's University.  Our congratulations, best wishes and promise of prayers for Justin!

Vocation and formation ministry is often bittersweet when a young man's discernment calls him to a different path or journey. This is true of Joseph Kurt Nugent and Eric Soiber, who were part of our aspirancy program this past year. Both Joseph and Eric will remain in San Antonio.

Joseph hopes to pursue a position in high school teaching, and Eric will work at The Arc of San Antonio, which serves those with developmental disabilities. Both young men beautifully expressed their happiness and gratitude in being part of our aspirancy program. We wish them well and the promise of our prayers.

In the name of the Province I wish to express our thanks to Bro. Dennis Bautista, our director of aspirancy, and the brothers of the Casa Maria Community for their generous and heartfelt support of these three aspirants.

With fraternal affection,

From Bro. Ed Brink
