NEW BERGAMO DIRECTOR NAMED
We are pleased to announce that Brent Devitt is the new executive director of the Bergamo Center for Lifelong Learning at Mount Saint John in Dayton. Brent has a long history of Catholic ministry, serving most recently as principal at Ascension Catholic grade school in Kettering, Ohio, a position he's held since 2000.
We believe Brent's experience as a principal offers a blend of Catholic spirituality, staff development, budgeting and facilities management that transfers well to the Bergamo role. His experience with the Marianists has come through his involvement with the pilot program of the Catholic Leadership Institute and the Saint Remy Initiative, both through the University of Dayton.
"Brent offers a balance of spirituality, mission and administrative experience," said Fr. Chris Wittmann, a member of the search committee.
Brent has a master's degree in education administration and leadership. He's served in Catholic education for 30 years, with 25 of those as a principal. He's a past president of the Greater Dayton Principals Association. He and his wife Michele have four children. They live in Beavercreek, Ohio.
Brent succeeds Dick Flack, who is retiring after almost 15 years as Bergamo director. We thank Dick for his many years of ministry.
Congratulations to Brent, and thanks to the search committee of the Bergamo board for its work with the hiring process.
Fraternally,
