Brothers who attended the San Antonio workshop: Please fill out the survey emailed this week by Bro. Steve Glodek. Your feedback is important to our planning.

Let us continue to pray for each other, for our ongoing renewal, our ministries and especially for the guidance of the Holy Spirit during the upcoming Provincial Chapter.

From Bro. Ed Brink

Dear Brothers:

PERSONNEL

Bro. Bill Campbell has decided to complete his work at the National Catholic Educational Association effective yesterday, Feb. 26, after consulting with his doctor and Fr. Marty. He will pursue sabbatical opportunities. Bill has been at the NCEA for 12 years, 10 in the elementary school department and two with the department of chief administrators of Catholic education. Please join me in thanking Bill for his service at NCEA and to Catholic education.

Bro. Bill, Fr. Jerry

Fr. Jerry Chinchar will conclude his service to the University of Dayton at the end of the semester. Jerry has been at UD for 31 years and served in both the campus ministry team and the religious studies department. As the "priest on call," Jerry provided comfort to students and family members in difficult situations. His love of liturgy provided a wonderful example for students, faculty and staff members. Jerry will continue his sacramental ministry to the Meyer Hall community and will work on music projects.

Bro. Joseph Darwin G and Fr. Bob Bouffier are safe amid the unrest in Bangkok, Thailand. Assumption University is located outside the city and has not been affected by the violence. Bro. Darwin reported that a few days before the demonstrations, he and Bro. Tom Oldenski (who was in transit to a conference) were visiting the area. Let us prayer for the people of Thailand and the continued safety of our brothers.

Fraternally,

From Fr. Paul Marshall

Dear Brothers:

As we mourn the recent loss of Bro. Dick Olsen, we give thanks for his witness as a Marianist brother, in particular for his service to justice, peace, and integrity of creation. Dick was a fearless advocate for the poor, marginalized, oppressed and our environment. He also served as a faithful member of our Province JPIC Advisory Committee.

As we pray for his eternal rest, we are reminded that we will need to replace him on the JPIC committee. We invite interested brothers to submit their names to Brian Reavey. Our JPIC Advisory Committee meets in person once annually and once via annual conference call.

REPORT ON PROVINCE BUDGET

The Province budget proposal that the chapter reviews is on the PORTAL with the Provincial Chapter documents. The report includes the budget and report from the last fiscal year, the current fiscal year budget, and budget projections for the next two years. There is a second document with notes for certain budget lines. Just match the note with the corresponding number in the last column.

Please take the opportunity to review these documents. A reminder that this information is for Province members only. Please do not share or place on bulletin boards.

MSJC

A reminder that the Marianist Social Justice Collaborative (MSJC) invites brothers, sisters and lay people to serve on its issue teams (Alternatives to Violence, Death Penalty, Ecology & Environment, Global Economic Justice, LGBT Initiative, and Racial/Immigrant Justice). To volunteer, please contact Jim Vogt.
