From Fr. Marty Solma

Dear Brothers:

NOVITIATE UPDATE

When the asbestos abatement is completed, the demolition of the present novitiate building in Dayton will begin. The building has been cleared, the interior fixtures and equipment sold, donated or recycled, and all useable items (including stained glass windows) preserved for future use. The novitiate community, and others, have done a tremendous amount of work on this project. Designs for the new novitiate are nearly completed, thanks to Fr. Chris Wittmann and his committee.

Special thanks to Fr. Paul Marshall and Bro. Jack Somerville, who have spent much time and energy on this project.

PERSONNEL

Fr. Larry Doersching will step down as president of Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory in Hollywood, Fla., in June 2015. Our prayers and best wishes to Larry as he completes his ministry at C-M.

Bro. John Campbell is in Melbourne, Australia, staying with Bro. Bernie Hartman while Bro. Dave Quigley returns for a visit to the United States. Thanks to John for his willingness to provide this fraternal service.

MEETINGS/VISITATIONS

Bro. Jesse O'Neill and Fr. Oscar Vasquez will meet next weekend in St. Louis with the Province Assembly Committee. Please put these dates on your calendar as we hope for a strong attendance at this important Province event.

SAVE THE DATE!

Province Assembly in St. Louis at the Airport Marriott

June 25 - 29, 2015

Members of the Province Council will be in Hawai'i Feb. 15 -19 for the final area visitation of the Province. This has nothing to do with the single-digit temperatures in St. Louis!

Fraternally,

From Fr. Bill Meyer

NEW AFFILIATES

The Provincial Council has accepted six candidates for affiliation to the Society of Mary. The new affiliates are Phyllis and John Bousquet, Mary Ann and Charles Coarsey and Mary Ann and Andrew Gilliard.

All six affiliates are from Denton, Texas, and have been directed by Fr. Al McMenamy for two years. This past year they participated in a formal affiliate formation program directed by Fr. Al. The affiliation ceremony will take place in Denton on Saturday, March 22. Congratulations to the new affiliates to the Society of Mary and their spiritual director, Fr. Al!

With fraternal affection,
