From Fr. Marty Solma

Dear Brothers:

As part of Vision 2020, the Provincial Council has identified the important work of expanding our fundraising and deepening partnerships with donors as a long-term priority. The Province is launching a three-year capital campaign to build its endowment for care of our senior members, for the Office of Sponsorship, and for our ministries in India and Africa. The Provincial Council is conducting the campaign in cooperation with Allison Hewitt, Province executive director of development.

Province leadership is enthusiastic and hopeful about the opportunity that a major fundraising campaign presents to involve our family of supporters. One great reward of major gift philanthropy is building partnerships around common goals and allowing others to share in our Marianist mission according to their interest and capacity. We know this transition to major gifts requires a disciplined, systematic and intentional approach.

We think this initiative is critical for our future and our ability to raise the funds we need to support the mission of the Province.

In the coming weeks, members of the Province will be contacted by Allison to assist in the early stages of the campaign, primarily to discuss historical Marianist relationships to build our list of prospective partners. Your generous support and advice will be greatly appreciated.

We hope this effort will result in an expanded capacity to advance the Province mission and support the internal needs of the Province. We hope that a successful campaign will allow the gift of our Marianist charism to continue touching many lives and strengthening faith in our traditional ministries and our dependent units.

Fraternally,

The JPIC Office announces that its web pages are now online! The office will update and revise as necessary and welcomes feedback. Brian Reavey and I would like to thank Province employees Diane Guerra, Carol Dexter and Sandy Barnett for their hard work with this process.

Bro. John Samaha reminds us of an important free resource as we advance justice as a Province. Fr. William Ferree's Introduction to Social Justice has been published in a new edition by the Center for Economic and Social Justice, of which Fr. Ferree was co-founder. John notes, "The pamphlet is a classic, and it's free. Can't beat the price." Print out the pamphlet.
