Ed Brink and I had a fine visit to the District of Mexico last weekend, where we attended the ordination of Raymundo Domnguez Gonzlez. We were joined by Bros. Bob Hanss and Ralph Neumann from San Antonio. About 600 guests
were present for the ordination and the banquet afterwards, held in the plaza in front of the church. The church was built in 1770 by Franciscan missionaries and was recently refurbished. It was a beautiful setting for a very touching ceremony. On Sunday morning, Fr. Raymundo presid
ed at his first Eucharist in the nearby chapel which is under the care of the Marianists. He was an excellent celebrant, and Fr. Quentin Hakenewerth gave the homily. We continue to pray for the development of Marianist life in Mexico.
On Jan. 22, Birendra Kullu and Rajesh Lakra were ordained at Blessed Chaminade parish in Singhpur, India. This ordination and Raymundo's will be featured in the next FamilyOnline.
