Welcome to our March 2016 e-Newsletter!
Design fans will want to check out an exhibit on Toronto's Art Deco history featuring the drawings of Benjamin Brown, who designed dozens of buildings in Toronto. You'll find more information on that below, along with a guide to Toronto's best crepes, Liberty Village Then and Now photos, a link to Toronto Fashion Week and an article about the Canadian Housing Market.
With the mild weather upon us, the spring market is here! A record number of properties changed hands in February, yet there is still a shortage of homes on the market. Please get in touch if you are planning on making a move this year.
As always, I thank you for your past and future business and any referrals you may have are greatly appreciated.

Toronto's Art Deco legacy celebrated:
Exhibition open until April 23rd
Facing each other across Spadina Avenue just north of Adelaide, the Tower and Balfour Buildings frame a striking entryway into Toronto's Fashion District.
Previously known as the Garment District, the neighbourhood was home to many of Toronto's textile workers, who were predominantly Jewish immigrants.

Best Crepes in Toronto
Pancakes are fine, but there's something special about a crêpe. The paper thin French treat can be stuffed with savoury and sweet options, from S'Mores to smoked duck, and Toronto restaurants have stepped up to the plate with creative and delicious creations.

Canadian home price gains to slow, says top realtor
Realtor Royal LePage says it expects Canada's real estate market to slow this year due to eroding affordability in Toronto and Vancouver and the fallout from declining oil prices in Western Canada.
In its latest report, the realtor says the average price of a Canadian home increased 6.5 per cent to $500,688 in the fourth quarter of last year, compared to the same period on 2014.

Toronto Fashion Week: March 14 - 18
Canada's leading fashion event will once again take over David Pecaut Square (221 King St. W.) with a new name, Toronto Fashion Week, a new tent layout and an exciting roster of designers.
This season will also see more access for consumers, giving designers an opportunity to debut collections to industry and consumers at the same time.

Liberty Village Then and Now
If you see a pedestrian strolling down Liberty Street today, they could be on their way to a condo or office stacked in one of the repurposed brick warehouses still lining the road.
Just over 100 years ago they might have been taking their first steps towards freedom following a prison sentence; the narrow street that Liberty Village shares its name with was once home to a pair of correctional facilities.
