Old Skating Photographs from Toronto

The Toronto Guardian visited the Toronto archives recently looking for old skating photographs from the 1900s-1970s. Ponds, rivers, lakes and man made rinks were all used for pleasure skating for over 100 years around our city.

Ice skating is a Canadian past time and it is hard to imagine it not being a part of our daily life during the colder winter months.

City of Toronto receives award for conservation and heritage management

Toronto's housing market just had a record year for sales, with prices surging almost 10%

It was the second best December ever for Toronto existing home sales, icing on the cake in a year in which the annual sales record was broken in November.

The Toronto Real Estate Board said Wednesday that sales reached 4,945 in December, pushing TREB's annual figure past 100,000 for the first time.

Market News

TORONTO, January 6, 2016 -- The second best sales result on record for December capped off a record year for TREB MLS� home sales in the GTA. Toronto Real Estate Board President Mark McLean announced that there were 4,945 sales reported in December bringing the 2015 calendar year total to 101,299 - a substantial 9.2 per cent increase compared to 2014 as a whole. Strong annual sales increases were experienced for all major home types last year.
