The Gardiner Expressway has been in the news a lot lately. What to do with the eastern section is a big decision which rests with City Hall. Below is an article from Global illustrating both options.

Toronto's Pride celebrations start on June 19th, but the rainbow flag is already up at City Hall! Scroll down for some highlights at the festival.

With the lack of available land in Toronto, many smaller homes are being torn down and replaced with enormous homes. The CBC spoke with an urban planner and has the breakdown of where this is happening. You'll find the link below.

May was a record month for real estate sales in Toronto, with the average price of a detached house just over $1.15M! Toronto's booming real estate market fuels teardown trend


Toronto's red-hot real estate market is fuelling a push to tear down homes on valuable land and replace them with newer, bigger ones, sometimes to the dismay of urban planners.

According to data from the City of Toronto, 375 teardowns were approved between January 1 and May 11 this year.

Pride Toronto: June 19-28


The main event takes place on Sunday, June 28th, but there is a full ten days of events happening - from the opening party on Thurdsay the 19th on the BIA stage between Maitland and Alexander, a human rights conference on the 20th and the ever popular Starry Night fundraiser at the 519. Special guests this year include Pussy Riot, Chaz Bono and last year's winner of RuPaul's Drag Race, Bianca Del Rio!

Decision time for the Gardiner Expressway 


The fate of the Gardiner Expressway is now in the hands of city council.A decision on what to do with the eastern portion of the crumbling Gardiner went to a debate on Wednesday at city hall.

There are two options for the elevated section east of Jarvis St.: tear it down and replace it with a boulevard, or a hybrid option.

Market News


Toronto Real Estate Board President Paul Etherington announced 11,706 sales reported by Greater Toronto REALTORS® in May 2015.  This result was up by 6.3 per cent in comparison to 11,013 sales reported in May 2014.  For the TREB market area as a whole, sales were up for all major housing types.  However, in the City of Toronto, where the supply of low-rise listings has been constrained, sales were down for detached homes.
