Volunteer Opportunities
Let's start the new year with a resolution to serve! Urban Ed has several opportunities for volunteering starting on Jan 18 and running through mid April.
We are in need of people to be guest speakers and presenters with our youth ages 15-17. We are starting a Guest Speaker series on a number of topics from "just life" to business to technology, to support our Teen TechnoAcademy. Our program provides youth with valuable workplace skills and technical certifications that will help them succeed and be better equipped for life after high school.
- Come share your technology or engineering career experience and how you got there.
- Talk to youth about "life" and how you overcame obstacles.
- Expose them to new ideas like banking, homeownership, getting into college, fitness, and the list can go on. Bring us your creative ideas for presentations!
These are mini sessions of open and interactive conversation with youth helping them think differently and make more constructive decisions. Sessions can be delivered on Tue, Thu or Fri between 5 - 7 pm. Preference is Fridays between 5:30-6:30 pm.

You would be amazed how one simple conversation can change a teens direction for the better. Help make that difference and volunteer with Urban Ed!
