With the hope that Punxsutawney Phil was right about an early spring, we're going green for March, and hope you'll join us! Green inititiatives throughout the city have presented Chicago with dozens of accolades over the past few years, and not just because the color of the river St. Patrick's Day weekend. Weather jokes aside (or maybe not), February plowed through successfully for our Chamber members with the Five Star Expo. Below you'll see highlights from February 22nd!
The Bloomingdale Area Women in Business awarded their fifth Annual "Woman of the Year" February 28th to Bev Petrosius at an awards dinner held at Jameson's Charhouse. Check out photos from the special night below!
March is chock-full of opportunites for you, members! You've probably already received our invitation to March 14th's State of the Village, where our Mayor Mr. Bob Iden will speak. Bobak's in Woodridge will again host our multi-chamber luncheon on March 21st, and Kathy Maykut at ReMax AllPro will host the after-hours that day. BAWIB will host their annual "Girl Power Happy Hour" March 7th at Jameson's Charhouse, as well as an educational seminar titled "Strategic Planning for YOUR Life" at the Bloomingdale Bank & Trust March 26th. SCORE Mentoring!
Mentoring Sessions are available the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month here at the Chamber (108 W. Lake Street, Bloomingdale) from 1:00PM-4:00PM. You must register in advance to participate!

SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentoring. For the past 50 years, SCORE has been assisting business owners through their network of volunteer mentors, free business tools and templates, workshops and business counseling. SCORE mentors will be available for one-on-one business counseling here at the Chamber office.

Member Spotlight: Bloomingdale Animal Hospital
Established in 1976, Bloomingdale Animal Hospital has been a stable fixture within the Bloomingdale community. The hospital has maintained the same dedication of providing excellent medical care for pets with a family-like atmosphere. This dedication is stated in our hospital's motto: "Treating Pets As Family For Over 35 Years". This year, Dr. Ken Page who has practiced veterinary medicine at Bloomingdale Animal Hospital for 35 years decided it was time to retire. We are all sadden, but Dr. Dan McCormack, Dr. Mike Winfield, Dr. Joe Cwik, Dr. Heidi Engel, and Dr. Sue Kamienski, will continue to provide the same excellent care Bloomingdale Animal Hospital prides itself on since its inception. We are located in Bloomingdale off Glen Ellyn Road between Lake Street and Army Trail Road. FIVE STAR EXPO
On February 22, 2013, over seventy exhibitors and more than three hundred attendees gathered for the 17th Annual Five Star Expo!
Held at Hilton Indian Lakes Resort, exhibitors lined the Trilliums in anticipation of attendees.

Games ruled the Expo with special prizes from exhibitors such as the Bloomingdale Park District and Budget Blinds of Bloomingdale.
We were even fortunate enough to have a visit from Allegra Marketing Print Mail's Magnet Man!
Big thank you to all who braved the weather and made it out that day - the feedback has been incredibly positive!

The Georgene Geils "Woman of the Year" Awards Dinner was held at Jameson's Charhouse on February 28th. Beverly Petrosius graciously accepted the award, thanking the room (a record breaking attendance) for their years of friendship and support. BLOOMINGDALE GOLF CLUB'S COMMUNITY CARD
Golf Enthusiasts of Bloomingdale:
It may be hard to picture Golf Season with snow on the ground, but the folks at Bloomingdale Golf Course are gearing up for 2013's season by implementing a new fee structure program.

The Community Card Program, which has a nominal fee of $10.00, entitles the participant to receive reduced green fee rates when playing golf at Bloomingdale Golf Club. Here are the savings you will receive with the Community Card:
- $7 on regular 18 Hole Round of Golf Before 2PM
- $4 on regular 18 Hold Round of Golf After 2PM
- $4 Senior/Junior 18 Hole Round of Golf
- $4 on 18 Round during Spring and Fall play
- $3 on All 9 Hole Rounds of Golf
To register for the card, simply visit the Bloomingdale Golf Club Pro Shop beginning February 11th - don't forget to bring a current photo I.D.! The Community Card is available to all Bloomingdale, Medinah and Roselle residents (Medinah and Roselle residents fee is $15.00).

Submissions will be accepted via email (stephanie@bloomingdalechamber.com), and a small committee will convene to vote on the company who presents the greenest ideas! The winner will receive a complimentary e-blast (valued at $75) and a spotlight in the April Newsletter!
