Now that 2013 is well underway, it's time to get down to networking!

As I mentioned in last month's letter, Membership Surveys from Chamber Master have been e-mailed. We appreciate the huge response we've received so far in updates! Remember, the more accurate information we have, the better we can help promote you!
In January, the Chamber (with a little help from our friends) hosted the Five Star Booth Camp, a Multi-Chamber Progressive Luncheon, a Chamber Unplugged, and the Bloomingdale Area Women in Business' Relaxation Event. Look below for the highlights!
Speaking of BAWIB, the Bloomingdale Area Women in Business will award Mrs. Beverly Petrosius the Georgene Geils "Woman of the Year" on February 28th at Jameson's Charhouse. Register Here for what promises to be a very special evening!
Last month we reminded you to "Like" our page on Facebook, and to follow us on Twitter (Chamber60108), and this month we'd like to make sure you have the same opportunity to promote your business! Chamber Master now offers Facebook link capabilities. Simply log on to your account and add your page's information under the Web tab.

SCORE Mentoring!
This month kicks off the Village of Bloomingdale and the Chamber's new partnership with SCORE!
SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentoring. For the past 50 years, SCORE has been assisting business owners through their network of volunteer mentors, free business tools and templates, workshops and business counseling. SCORE mentors will be available for one-on-one business counseling here at the Chamber office.
Mentoring Sessions are available the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month here at the Chamber (108 W. Lake Street, Bloomingdale) from 1:00PM-4:00PM. You must register in advance to particpate!

Booth Camp 2013
On January 10th the Chamber kicked off its year with the 2013 Five Star Expo Booth Camp.
Everyone enjoyed a brown bag lunch provided by Don Helmig and Catering with Elegance. while learning from our fantastic two presenters, Steve Robinson of Constant Contact, and Tom Gosche or Principal Financial Group.
We received very positive feedback from members and look forward to seeing how what exhibitors learned in booth camp is applied to this year's Five Star Expo!

Multi-Chamber Progressive
The first Multi-Chamber Progressive Luncheon of the year was held at the Bloomingdale Golf Club on January 16th along with partners from Addison, Bartlett, Carol Stream, Hanover Park and Roselle.
Attendees enjoyed three courses while table hopping to network with over 100 businesses!

We had a fantastic turnout January 22nd for the Annual Mario Tricoci Relaxation Event! A huge thank you to manager Lindsey Leonhardt and all the technicians who donated their time. Attendees enjoyed appetizers from Elena's Cucina as well as Stan Poplonski's infamous cake balls! Technicians provided "mini" services, such as massages, facials, and manicures. This month BAWIB awards the Georgene Geils "Woman of the Year." After much deliberation over excellent nominations, the awards committee has chosen Beverly Petrosius of Stepping Stones as this year's Women of the Year. Jameson's Charhouse will host the dinner and award ceremony on February 28th! |
