Graceful Retirement
Retirement is a forbidden word for those who say, "I'll be a pastor until the day I die." For others, retirement cannot come too soon; they are more than ready to escape the pressures and expectations that so often robbed them of sleep. Some retired pastors resemble ships drifting; they have no sense of purpose. A few hang around large churches, ready (should they be asked) to fill the pulpit.

On January 23, 2016, the designated day for the Liberty Magazine & Religious Liberty promotion, there was a massive storm almost on the entire eastern coast of the United States. Many churches in this entire region were closed that Sabbath and very little happened that day concerning the Liberty Magazine promotion. Thousands of people will probably not be receiving Liberty Magazine who otherwise should have.

Tips to help get your Social Media Ministry Started

"Any church that doesn't have a Facebook page may not be doing relevant ministry," says Noah Washington, former senior pastor at Allegheny East Conference's Bladensburg, Maryland church. Washington and the media team updated their Facebook and Twitter accounts with pictures from the church service and videos of their praise team and groups. Bladensburg has a weekly attendance of between 375 and 400, but their Facebook page has more than 1,200 fans. He says that the church's social media efforts have had a tremendous impact. "We've had people attend service because of our Facebook and Twitter accounts." Read More
