CALLED Convention General Session Information - Over 4000 registered!

The 2015-CALLED Pastor's Family Convention is less than three months away. We are praising God for over four thousand registered attendees, and we are looking forward to meeting each one at the convention.

 

Our six general sessions will focus on 7 qualities for excellence in pastoral ministry. The qualities are Character, Worship, Leadership, Evangelism, Management, Scholarship, and Relationship. Each day several speakers will address these qualities and the attendees will be able to participate and respond to speakers through media, Q & A, and panel discussions.

The annual career fair at the Andrews University Theological Seminary was filled with hopeful expectations and abundant interactions. Seminarians and conference representatives met individually in a get-to-know style interview process in professional and personal conversations. Let's keep praying for all seminarians and undergraduates seeking employment in full time ministry.

Pastor Appreciation Stories



The Dream: We would like to acquire dozens of videos of church members who appreciate their pastor(s). These will be used at the convention as well as other projects long after. Envision a video wall at the convention with hundreds of faces of people who state why they appreciate their pastors.

 

The Process:

As each ministerial director travels around to different churches they should identify people who are appreciative of their pastors. Take out your iPhone or Android cell and record a vertical video of the appreciative member. The video should be a mid chest high video. The interviews should be short - one sentence is ideal.  

 

Please do not mention the pastor by name. Make it as generic as possible. For example, "I appreciate my pastor because..."

 

Questions could be:

What do you appreciate about your pastor?

Why are you thankful for your pastor?

How are you blessed by your pastor?   

 

Be sure to have the interviewed member give the correct spelling of their name on the video for you.
