North Wake 
District Park!

Do you enjoy using
North Wake Landfill 
District Park?  

For the next couple of months there will be construction work taking place near the entrance to the park as the County works 
to improve the nearby recycling/
convenience center. 

You can enter park on the same roads you always have, but the gravel parking lot to access the Top of the Hill Trail will be closed off. Please stay out of marked construction areas.

Nature Stories:

Welcoming Winter  


Brrrr!  When it's cold outside, you put on a coat.  What do you suppose that animals do?  Learn how different animal groups deal with the winter cold.  Bring your coat too, for this all outside adventure

    • For ages 3-5 (accompanied by parent)
    • Wednesday January 22  1-2 p.m.
    • $4 per child

Family Wildlife Program: 


Ever wondered what letterboxing is?  Well now's your 

chance to learn all about it and give it a try--we might even find our special BJP letterbox. 

Letterboxing is a bit like geocaching, 

but uses puzzle solving and your brain instead of technology! Bundle up for this all-outside program.

    • For all ages, though content and activities are most appropriate for ages 5 and up
    • Saturday, January 18  2-3:30 p.m.
    • $5/family
    • Pre-registration is required

Join Blue Jay staff as we look for signs of winter  

animal activity on this frosty afternoon hike.

Recycle your holiday tree to mulch trails at Wake County Parks. Drop off your undecorated holiday trees at designated locations from December 26, 2013 until January 20, 2014.
