Loose as a Goose
Join other families to learn about waterfowl - the differences between ducks and geese, who our wintertime residents are, and how waterfowl make a living in their watery world through a combination of indoor and outdoor activities. This program is open to all ages, but content and activities are most appropriate for ages 5 and up, with a grown-up.

- Eco-Kids Mini-Camp: Digging Dinos for ages 4-5 (drop-off)
- Dino-mite! Learn how interesting dinosaurs really are as we find out what they looked like, what they ate, and how they lived.
- January 14, 16 & 18 1-3pm
- $25/child (for all 3 sessions)
- Nature Crafts: Tricky Tracks for ages 6-8 (drop-off
- Come dressed for the weather so you can roam the park learning the fine art of "tracking". Make a bandanna Track Guide to take home.
- Saturday, January 26, 1-3pm
- $8/child
- Family Wildlife Series: Barking Up the Right Tree
- Can you ID a tree without its leaves? Learn to ID deciduous trees in the winter with only the tree's bark, fruit and buds. Find out how these trees are important to wildlife in winter.
- Saturday, January 19, 2-3:30pm
- $5/family. All ages welcome, but materials and activities are most appropriate for ages 5 and up.
These programs require pre-registration.

Have you ever noticed the fresh aroma of evergreen trees on Blue Jay's trails in the wintertime? Holiday trees are chipped into mulch and spread on our trails--reminding us of the holidays well into March! Drop off your undecorated holiday trees at one of the following parks:
- Blue Jay Point County Park: 3200 Pleasant Union Church Road, Raleigh
- Harris Lake County Park: 2112 County Park Drive, New Hill
- Lake Crabtree County Park: 1400 Aviation Parkway, Morrisville
between December 26 and January 20
7 days a week 8am to dusk
Remember to recycle your holiday waste! Check the website for
all the materials that you can recycle at
Convenience Centers and Multi-material Recycling Facilities.
