We would like to know! | |
We are considering how best to publicize things happening at Blue Jay Point, including programs and events, park closures/delayed openings due to weather, cool nature happenings and more. How do YOU like to get
information about things like that?

Presently we don't have a Facebook page or Tweet--we are just "gathing opinions" at this point. Please drop us an email and let us know what you think is a good idea. This is not a "sign-up" of any kind, but we WILL have a random drawing of all "opinion contributors" for a

Night Owls and Candle Magic
Saturday, November 17
6:30-9 p.m.
(the Saturday evening before Thanksgiving!)
Bring the "night owls" in your family to enjoy the magic of a stroll along our luminaria-lined trail as you learn about the late fall seasonal activities of our local owls. Enjoy hot cocoa and a lantern-lit craft project before you go home. FREE and for all ages (baby backpacks are recommended rather than strollers). No dogs, please. Last "stroll" begins at 8:30 p.m. Perfect for Jr. Naturalist families and scout groups! No preregistration is needed for this evening event. We need a few adults, high school jrs/srs or college students to help us with this event. Call 919-870-4330 to find out what you need to do to volunteer. To best plan your family's Night Owls experience, check out the "Insiders Guide to Night Owls and Candle Magic."

And fun was had by all . . .
at the Natural Play Area Grand Opening held on October 13. Many families came to learn more about this new trend in children's play--many on their very first trip to Blue Jay!
| | It was fun to see adults reading to kids and kids reading to adults on the Story Walk to the Blue Jay meadow. |
| | Brianna Pineada was the proud winner of the door prize! |
.
| | Fort building was a hit, as was digging in Sandy Hollow or creating new games at the Stump Jump. |
The Natural Play Area is a year round opportunity,
located just up the hill from the traditional playground--
follow the wooden signs!
