October Program: Academic Trends and Career Tracks for Technical Communication Professionals
Join us Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm on October 29 at IIT's Rice Campus in Wheaton for dinner, networking, and a fascinating look at the changing tech comm landscape. Some topics include:
- What are the academic trends and offerings today when compared with the recent past?
- How have universities accommodated the growing demand for leaders who can communicate and share knowledge in new ways?
- How can we gain proficiency with the tools and resources available today?
Representatives from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Northern Illinois University, and Northwestern University will join us and take your questions.
Don't miss this opportunity to network and learn about what's new in the field. Doors open at 5:30 for registration and networking, and dinner is provided at 6:00.

October AC Meeting The STC Chicago Administrative Council meets on the second Saturday of every month to discuss chapter business. All members are welcome to attend. October's AC meeting takes place on Saturday, October 12.

Help us get ready for the 42nd Annual Technical Communication Competition!
We're now recruiting judges for this year's competition. If interested, complete the Judges sign-up form, and someone from the Competition Committee will contact you. If you have any questions, feel free to email competition@stc-chicago.com.
Why you should be a judge for the STC Competition Judges have a unique opportunity to review entries from different categories and industries. Entries can be websites, manuals, help documentation, newsletters, etc. Past entries have come from industries as diverse as aerospace, manufacturing, agricultural, software, and medical associations. Seeing such different work can be educational as well as inspiring. You also get to interact with other judges and benefit from their experience. |
