January Chapter Event: Webinar with Joe Welinske
Join us January 24 from 12:00-1:00 pm to hear Joe Welinske talk about new trends in user assistance.
This webinar is limited to 23 registrants, but you can invite as many people as you like to listen in to the webinar with you. This is a great opportunity to invite coworkers and colleagues to get a taste of what STC Chicago is all about.

Candidates Sought for Chapter Offices in 2013-2014
Will 2013 find you in an STC office? If you have an interest in leading, the Chicago chapter is now accepting nominees for the following offices:
- vice president (becoming chapter president in 2014 and immediate past president in 2015)
- secretary (one-year term)
- treasurer (one-year term)
- 2 members for the nominating committee (two-year terms)
- 1 member for the nominating committee (one-year term)
Candidates for all elected positions must be chapter members in good standing when the election is held in the spring of 2013. All terms begin in July 2013.

STC Chicago Offers Student Scholarships
STC Chicago is offering two $250 scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a certificate or degree program in or related to the field of technical communication for the 2013-2014 school year. If you're interested and eligible, please submit a complete application form, along with the requested writing sample, by February 15, 2013. |
STC Chicago Seeking Bloggers
If you're the sort to make new year's resolutions, perhaps you can resolve to write a blog post for STC Chicago in 2013. We're currently seeking individuals to write a "day in the life" blog post about their job as a technical communicator. We know our members have varied roles and responsibilities, and to accurately reflect that, we plan to publish a "Day in the Life of [Your Name Here]" post once a month. If you're interested in being featured in such a post, contact Adam Evans at pr@stc-chicago.com. He can provide more detail and get you started on your post. |

Summit 2013 Registration Underway
Registration for STC's Summit registration is now open. Register today to start your way to Atlanta and help STC celebrate its 60th anniversary.
Summit 2013's keynote speaker is David Pogue. David is a New York Times columnist, Missing Manual publisher, and Emmy-winning CBS News correspondent.
