I'm not normally a symphony attendee though I should would love to say, "I'm going to the symphony this evening." If there were ever a time to take in a symphony, this is it!  On May 12 at 7:30 pm the Helena Symphony will perform Mahler's Monumental Eighth Symphony.  This production features 430 performers.  The logistics behind what this involves boggle me.  I'm hinting for a special Mother's Day Eve gift this year.  For more info, check out Marga Lincoln's article in today's Independent Record.

Helena's South Hills Disc Golf Course received a great make-over and starts the season with some exciting changes.    The new disc golf baskets, tee boxes with non-slip rubber lining and a new course lay-out all help make this course the season's must.  If you're not familiar with Helena, just take the South Helena exit off 1-15 and head toward the hospital.  You'll see the course on your left-hand side.  The Base Camp has more info on this course, including a printable map.  If you haven't had a chance to catch the disc golf craze, this is the time!
