How to Protect your Financial Security from Computer Hacks
On October 19 at 5:30 pm, Noble Horizons and Salisbury Bank will host Dave Hall, President of CompuWorks, who will present "Internet Security: How to Be Safe, Savvy and Secure".  Hall will describe the latest and increasingly sophisticated hacking tactics and explain how computer hacks all over the world invade computers to steal our financial information.  He will also discuss how to recognize and protect yourself against an attempted hack, what to do if your security has been breached and how to restore your financial security.

Two One Act Plays at Noble Benefit the Jane Lloyd Fund
On Friday, October 21, Noble Horizons invites the community to an evening of two one-act plays directed by Aglet Theater co-founder and artistic Director Macey Levin.  Refreshments will be served at 6:30;  the plays, "It's a Sin to Tell a Lie", and "Save Me a Place at Forest Lawn" will begin at 7 pm.  Donations will be accepted for the Jane Lloyd Fund which provides financial support to families in the Region One area of the Northwest Corner of Connecticut, who, because of the effects of cancer and its treatment, cannot meet their day - to - day financial obligations.
 
Macey Levin and Gail Ryan will star in Jason Miller's "It's a Sin to Tell A Lie" a gentle, warmly humorous play about two old and lonely strangers who meet by chance; Lorees Yerby's "Save Me a Place at Forest Lawn" features Gail Ryan and Sarah Tames as two elderly women whose new friendship takes an unexpected turn.  Guests are asked to register at www.noblehorizons.org or 860-435-9851, ext. 190.  More information about the Jane Lloyd Fund is at www.thejanelloyd fund.org.

Keith Moon-Russia in the Age of Putin: Everything Old is New Again

On October 15 at 1:30 pm, Keith Moon, of The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut,  will present Russia in the Age of Putin: Everything Old is New Again. Moon, who has offered Russian literature classes in the community for close to a decade, holds degrees from Dartmouth College and Harvard University. He has taught Russian, History and English at The Hotchkiss School for 30 years, studied in the Soviet Union and travels frequently throughout Russia.   Registration for Mr. Moon's free program is at www.noblehorizons.org or 860-435-9851.

Teacher and author, Peter Vermilyea, was the featured speaker at the October 4th combined dinner meeting of the Salisbury Rotary Club and the Canaan Exchange Club.  He spoke on his latest book, "Wicked Litchfield County," highlighting stories of counterfeiting and murders, along with the "prevailing justice of the times," during the late 1700s and into the 1800s.
