GET OUTSIDE FRIDAYS
From the garden to the table
Mr. Laurent and his fourth grade learners spent part of their day weeding, harvesting, and prepping the Lower School Garden for the winter. Here, fourth graders Will Hanney, Katie Kerachsky, and Isabel Guastella show off their harvest of eggplant, shallots, garlic, and jalapeņo peppers.

The next stop for this bounty was Chef Rob and his kitchen! Students, faculty, and staff enjoyed the local vegetables as part of Wednesday's lunch of honey mustard roast pork tenderloin, herb stuffing, and the vegetables from the garden.
Field Trip to Goddard Memorial State Park The second graders went on a field trip to Goddard Memorial State Park where they used their compass and followed directions to find a letter box that was planted in 2005! They also found insects, insect homes, insect predators, cocoons, and Arthropods in the "field" with Mr. Wyzga. It was a great Get Outside Friday! |
