TWO SENIORS NAMED NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP SEMIFINALISTS
 | | Brady Dill and Shane Woolley |
Rocky Hill School is pleased to announce that two seniors have been named Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Brady Dill of Greene and Shane Woolley of East Greenwich were selected based on their PSAT scores from their junior year.
There are approximately 16,000 Semifinalists nationwide continuing on in the competition for 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth about $33 million that will be offered next spring. Over 1.4 million students in more than 22,000 high schools enter the National Merit Scholarship Program each year.
Rocky Hill School wishes the best of luck to Brady and Shane as they work to fulfill the requirements in hopes of advancing to the Finalist level of the competition!
The students, faculty, and staff assembled on the front lawn of Hopelands to listen to Head of School Peter Branch deliver Rocky Hill School's 2014-15 Convocation Speech. From the front porch on that spectacularly sunny Friday afternoon, Mr. Branch reminded the students that they are the lasting legacy of Rocky Hill School and are the essential meaning of the school's 80 year existence.

LAND OF FIRES NATURE TRAIL
Rocky Hill School has received a generous donation from the Eldredge Family in honor of Lu Eldredge (Class of 1954) to restore the 1.5 mile Land of Fires Nature Trail on campus. The new trail will feature QR-codes at sites of historical and natural significance. When completed, students and visitors will be able to collect data in the field in order to learn more about the diverse habitats on campus.
On Saturday September 27 (1:00-5:00 p.m.) RHS is calling for volunteers (ages 12+) to help clear the Land of Fires trail of brush and assist in the installation of trail signs. Youngsters are invited to join us on a beach clean up and childcare will be provided as needed. Students are eligible for community service hours for this project. All volunteers will be treated to a pizza party provided by RHS to show our appreciation for their help!
Please save the date and join our community in this campus-wide effort. Volunteers can now sign up online. If you have any questions, please email Rochelle Devault.
