Eighth grade students took advantage of the warmer weather this week and moved their science class to the outdoor Harkness table.  
 
The table has been temporarily moved to overlook the Potowomut River.

Casey Farm
The sixth grade went with Blue Wheeler and Theresa Conroy to Casey Farm on Monday for community service and to learn about the history of the farm and area.  This was tied into both math and science through projects the kids are working on in class.

Miss Virginia
What are the odds of a group of Rhode Islanders travelling to the Submarine Museum in Groton, CT running into Miss Virginia?  If you're the Rocky Hill Fourth Grade, the odds are great!  Thanks to Jan Anthony and Matthew Sherry '21 for a fantastic trip.  The children had the opportunity to tour the USS Nautilus, the first United States nuclear submarine, as well as see a full size model of The Turtle, a one-man submarine designed using a wooden barrel during the American Revolution.

Faculty Spotlight                                                     

Librarian and technology integrator Darshell Silva received a grant from The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) for travel to its 16th National Conference & Exhibition, to be held Nov. 14-17, 2013 in Hartford, Conn. The AASL national conference, the only conference dedicated solely to the needs of school librarians, will feature preconference workshops, concurrent sessions and an exhibition featuring companies relevant to the school library profession.
