RHS Cries Wolf!
Saturday, May 11 | 1:00 - 2:30 | Campbell Center
Thanks to the hard work of Alyssa Grayson '19, the School will welcome the Wolf Conservation Center of South Salem, NY and their Arctic gray wolf, Atka. The program will include an up-close encounter with this important but misunderstood predator. Attendees will learn about the history of wolves in the United States, the importance of wolves in a healthy ecosystem and the efforts to save these magnificent creatures for future generations. State Fair The second grade has been studying our great state of Rhode Island. Monday, they hosted first-graders at a "state fair." Students chose a Rhode Island topic that they wanted to research in depth and created a corresponding booth. Students presented their research findings in a displayed essay and handed out small homemade treats to visitors.

Athletes of the Week
With a 4-0 record for the varsity tennis team, Robert Petteruti '13 was named the male athlete of the week. Danielle Trombley '13 earned female athlete of the week honors for her leadership and versatility on the girl's varsity lacrosse team.
Sailing Success!
The team sailed its best races of the season last weekend and defeated sailing powerhouse Tabor
Academy's second varsity 3 to 2 in a very close and exciting meet.
Headstrong Classic The lacrosse program's recent fundraiser raised more than $3,100 for the HEADStrong Foundation. Thank you to all those who attended, volunteered and donated.

Lower School teacher Kelly Shamburg and Head of Lower School Charlie Laurent recently presented at the Highlander Blended Learning Conference at Rhode Island College. Their session described strategies for "flipping" the classroom using teacher created instructional videos created on iPads using the app, Explain Everything. It also described how to create student podcasts using the app, Garage Band, and how this activity reinforces important language arts skills. Attendees had the opportunity to view teacher created videos and podcasts as well as experiment with the apps themselves.
