RI Blood Center Visit
The sixth grade visited the Rhode Island Blood Center Monday. The students finished up a unit on the cardiovascular system and furthered their learning about the blood and the importance of donating. A tour was provided and some students were even able to watch a local college student donated marrow for a child with Leukemia. His words to the students were, "It's pretty cool, I really am saving a life today." The students were encouraged to go home and talk to family and friends about donating and a reminder that Rocky Hill will host a blood drive on Monday, April 29 in the gymnasium from 1-5 pm.
A+ Advisory On Friday, as part of the Developmental Designs program, the seventh and eighth grades combined for an A+ Advisory activity, creating short skits that addressed conflicts that occur within friendships.
Sludge Project Eighth grade students are working on a monthlong sludge activity. Each lab group separates and identifies the substances that make up their mystery mixture.
