Senior Seminar
Last Tuesday evening Ira Hernowitz, senior leader, Global Juvenile Brands, Toys "R" Us Inc. opened Senior Seminar by engaging the senior class in a discussion about designing and marketing new products. Mr. Hernowitz, who has worked at both Hasbro and Toys "R" Us, pointed out that about 95 percent of new products fail either from flaws in the product or flaws in the marketing. From there he led the seniors through a discussion of the many questions that have arisen in the research, design, and marketing phases of products he has helped promote. In addition, he asked the seniors, who are divided into six teams, what products or services they are developing for promotion in the final session of the seminar. Several of the teams described their ideas and received valuable feedback. Next Tuesday evening, Matt Olerio, the founder and CEO of Roba Dolce, a RI-based company that manufactures and markets gelato and related products, will speak to the seniors and offer his advice to them as they hone their business plans for presentation on Thursday, February 14. Career Day Thursday, January 31 | 8:30 - 10:30 AM | Flynn Academic Building The School and the Alumni Association are pleased to have brought back Career Day, with the goal of exposing juniors and seniors to the real-life college experiences and career paths of 14 Rocky Hill alumni.
