Dear , The magnitude of the flooding in Columbia and Charleston was hard to watch earlier this month. The damage and destruction reminded me of two trips I made to the Gulf after Katrina. It's obviously not as severe, but when you see a debris pile on the front lawn of a home you understand the challenges that family is facing. The Upstate has responded with generosity from every sector of our community and I think we've made a real difference in their recovery.

I hope you enjoy this month's newsletter and I hope you will forward it to your friends, family, and colleagues who may be thinking about buying a home in the Upstate. All my best, Keith (420-0262)

FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps
Floodplains are important. They perform vital functions as temporary storage of floodwaters, moderation of peak flood flows, maintenance of water quality, groundwater recharge, prevention of erosion, habitat for wildlife, and recreational opportunities. Wherever possible, the natural characteristics of floodplains and their associated wetlands and water bodies should be preserved and enhanced. The Greenville County 2014 FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps are now available to view using the County's GIS system.
