Super embarrassed of my before picture but my coach told me to put on a tight outfit for my before picture so I can really see how much I have changed in the past 30 days! Some days were tough and I may have slipped up once or twice along the way, but I kept going and I'm halfway to my goal weight! I started at 193.6 and I'm now at 171.8 and want to get to 155! I also lost 12inches!

Are You A Distracted Eater?

The one bad habit that I would like to see people break is to cut out multi-tasking while eating. Multi-tasking is a prized skill in today's society-but when it comes to eating, our bodies haven't caught on to this phenomenon. Our stomachs send us subtle cues to tell our brain to stop feeding it, but these can be easily missed if we're distracted! When people turn off the TV, put down their devices, and focus on their food, they are better able to listen to their bodies' needs. This helps them to enjoy their food more, and be much more satisfied with it, despite the fact that they will likely end up eating less overall.
If you are sitting at your desk having lunch while perusing your emails or eating dinner in front of the television (just to name a couple of examples) you may be sabotaging your own success by missing the cues your body is sending you. When you start listening to your body the weight will come off.

Metabolism Retraining Hint--How To Burn More Calories At Rest
Lifting weights will increase your resting metabolic rate.
FACT: The more muscle you have, the more energy you need to fuel it, which means you burn more calories all the time. "A woman who strength-trains two to three times a week for 16 weeks will burn about 100 more calories a day," says Gary Hunter, PhD, director of exercise physiology at University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Recipe of the Week--Protein Pancakes
Beat 1 egg and 1 tbsp of water and add 1 packet of the Vanilla Protein, mix until it looks like cake batter (you may need another small splash of water). Then make sure your non-stick griddle is heated and cook. They don't bubble like regular pancakes, so use your spatula to check them.
