Weight Loss Hint--Cut Out The White Stuff
(An excerpt from an article by Kevin DiDonato)
Sugar that is...
This may be - or should be - the scariest word out there.
White sugar, processed flour, sugar-packed sweets, and sugar-sweetened beverages may be the number one thing keeping you from getting the body you desire.
Look, here's the skinny on sugar:
Sugar provides very little in the way of good nutrition. In fact, the only thing that sugar is good for is increasing the amount of sugar that is found in your blood.
And, if you have more sugar in your blood, then you may have more insulin being released - RIGHT NOW - from your pancreas to keep up with the demand.
Now, when there is too much insulin - like when there's too much sugar - than chances are that sugar is not fully being used for energy.
In fact, most of the sugar may be stored as FAT in your body - and this does NOTHING for your FAT loss.
What should you do?
You should cut back on your intake of white flours, sugars, sweets, and sugar-sweetened beverages - of course.
Not only will you be cutting out unnecessary calories, but you may be in better control of your blood sugar.

Nutrition Hint--Spend Your Calories Wisely
Today we're talking about Quinoa.
Quinoa is actually a seed, rather than a grain, that can be traced back to ancient Peru. Packed with protein, quinoa contains every amino acid, and is particularly rich in lysine, which promotes healthy tissue growth throughout the body. Quinoa is also a good source of iron, magnesium, vitamin E, potassium, and fiber.
Quinoa contains nearly twice as much protein as brown rice and more fiber, making it one of the most filling options for anyone looking to spend their calories wisely. Try cooking up a cup of cooked quinoa with sauteed veggies like mushrooms, onions, and carrots for a hearty meal that clocks in under 300 calories. Add chicken, tofu, or shrimp for an extra dose of protein.
On the Thin&Healthy plan, Quinoa can be a starch or because it is very high in protein, it would be an appropriate substitution for the meat. 1/4cup (dry) is the portion, it really fills up to about 1/2 to 3/4 cup after it is cooked. It is very filling and versatile in recipes.

Metabolism Retraining Hint--Yes, this really does count as exercise!
Spring cleaning, gardening and home repair projects can all provide good workouts, while sprucing up your home. Dusting, vacuuming and cleaning windows can burn up to 200 calories an hour, according to P&G Everyday Solutions, while gardening and yard work can burn between 250 and 350 calories an hour, reports U.S. News and World Report.
