Two Fall Spices For Weight Loss!
Nutmeg is low in sodium and cholesterol and high in fiber and manganese, which is a catalyst for breaking down fats and cholesterol-an important process for weight loss, Karen Langston, a certified nutritionist and board member of The National Association of Nutritional Professionals says.
Cinnamon is loaded with manganese, fiber, calcium, and iron, making it the perfect spice to add to your meals. It's also a natural appetite suppressant that decreases blood sugar, manages insulin, and revs up your metabolism. Experiment with different varieties of cinnamon: try Chinese cinnamon in meat rubs, Ceylon cinnamon with fruits, yogurt, or ice cream.

Nutrition Hint--The Perfect Protein
Cereal isn't the only choice for breakfast.
You won't find a more perfect protein source. Eggs are highly respected by dietitians because of their balance of essential amino acids (protein building blocks used by your body to manufacture everything from muscle fibers to brain chemicals). We like them because they keep our hands out of the cookie jar. Researchers at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center found that when people ate eggs in the morning, they felt less hungry throughout the day than when breakfast consisted of complex carbohydrates like bagels. "The protein and fat in the egg may be contributing to the feeling of satiety," says lead researcher Nikhil V. Dhurandhar, PhD.

Alleviate Depression By As Much As 47%
Depressed people can alleviate their symptoms by as much as 47 percent with regular aerobic exercise. In one study, a group of depressed people who performed moderately intense aerobic exercises at least three times a week "experienced a decline in depressive symptoms by an average of 47 percent after 12 weeks." Another group of depressed people performed low-intensity aerobics at least three times weekly; their symptoms improved by 30 percent. "Exercise isn't just about working off energy. It's about turning on the brain," says Harvard psychiatry professor John Ratey, author of Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain. With regular exercise, "people become much more emotionally regulated, and their cognitive abilities are much better.

Recipe of the Week--It's Dipping Time
Veggie Dip
8 oz FF Sour Cream
2 Cream of Vegetable Supplements
1/2 tsp. Mrs. Dash Lemon Pepper (or favorite Mrs.. Dash flavor)
optional Dill to taste
Servings: 8
Mix Ingredients together. Chill for an hour. Use 2 T for dip.
Phase: Any
Mexican Dip
8 oz FF Sour Cream
8 oz FF Cream Cheese
4 Italian Tomato Supplement
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Chili Powder
Servings: 16
Mix ingredients together. Chill for an hour. Use 2 T for dip.

Mexican Dip recipe
8 oz. FF Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
1-2 Cups Broccoli florets
1 Cup Shredded Carrots
1 Cup Chopped Red or Green Peppers
1 Cup Sliced Green Onions
Servings: 8
Spread Dip on baked crust. Sprinkle Veggies over spread. Sprinkle Shredded Cheese. Chill for one hour.
