What's Draining Your Energy?

I realize that Thanksgiving is only days away, but I'm so not ready for the holidays. I broke my knee cap two weeks ago and can't drive for at least 6 weeks. As a result, I'm wondering how I'm going to get everything done.

You probably don't have a broken knee, but you too may not be ready for the busyness that comes in November and December. To protect your time and energy, begin now to identify the stressors that drain your physical, emotional and mental resources. It's also important to identity the activities that renew and recharge you.

Becoming aware and articulating what gives you energy and what drains you is the first step toward minimizing the drainers and carving out a little time for the things that renew you. For example, for me baking cookies is a real energy drainer. In contrast, listening to holiday music and sending Christmas cards replenishes my depleted resources.

With my unexpected physical limitations, I'm deciding what I CAN do to live within my limits this holiday season.

Instead of complaining about the craziness of it all, are you willing to make one change and see what a difference it makes? Are you committed to having a holiday where you focus more on your relationships and less on meeting everyone's expectations, including your own? What would this season be like if you weren't continually pushing yourself to get everything done? Would you experience more peace, joy and love?

What's Growing in Georgia's Garden?

Right now I can't be in my garden to take a picture, but here is one photo of Heavenly Bamboo, which is growing my garden.  I put the red clusters of berries in baskets of holly and pine and give them as gifts.

"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." --Philippians 4:6-7 NLT

Coaching with Georgia

Add a 3- or 6-month coaching package to your Christmas list. After the holiday rush you can focus on growing relationally and spiritually in 2013.

One client had this to say: "I started this coaching journey as a way to force myself to accomplish more and work harder.  What actually happened is that coaching opened a door to my freedom from all of that pressure.  My priorities are shifting, I am listening for and hearing the quiet voice of God leading in my life, and I am learning to not only be still but to enjoy it!"
