Inaugural Four-Day Phases of the Moon Festival Releases Phase I of Artists Performing |
The inaugural Phases of the Moon Music & Art Festival is set to take place September 11-14, 2014 at the beautiful 3,000 acre Kennekuk County Park. Phases of the Moon proudly announced Phase I of the artists scheduled to perform at the first annual event earlier this week. The list included headliners Widespread Panic (performing two nights) and Lunar Landing Conspiracy. For the full list of released artists, visit www.potm.us/lineup.
In addition to national acts performing on the four outdoor stages, Phases of the Moon has put a strong emphasis on art. Large interactive sculptures, live art, and works from renowned national and local artists will be on display. Phases of the Moon is an all-inclusive event that includes access to farm-to-table food, craft beer, a farmer's market, diverse craft vendors, an area for families, and a Non-Profit Participation Row featuring local and national organizations.

NJCAA Tournament
Danville Area Community College and the City of Danville is proud to again host the Division II National Junior College Men's Basketball Tournament March 18-22 at the Mary Miller Gymnasium. 16 teams from across the country will travel to compete for the National Title. This marks the 21st year that Danville has hosted the tournament.

17th Annual Midwest Classic
Danville High School will welcome in 20 choral ensembles from across the country this weekend, January 31 & February 1 at the 17th Annual Midwest Classic Show Choir Competition. Over 3,000 spectators are also expected to attend the competition held in the historic Dick Van Dyke Auditorium at Danville High School.

African-American Film Festival
For four nights in February, the Danville Public Library will share feature films with African-American themes during different eras of film-making. Discussion will follow each screening. The screenings will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM February 3, 10, 18, and 25 in the First Floor Meeting Room at the Danville Public Library.
