75th Annual Georgetown Fair and 70th Annual National Sweetcorn Festival Coming Up
Diamonds and Denim will be the theme for the 75th Annual Georgetown Fair running next week, August 3-10. Grandstand events will include a Rush of Fools Concert, Queen Pageant, Talent Contest, Jimmie Bussell & The Brothers of the Highway Concert, Truck and Tractor Pull, Motocross Racing, and a Demolition Derby. New events this year include a 5K to kick off the fair week and fireworks Wednesday evening. For more information and a complete schedule visit georgetownfair.com
The schedule has yet to be released for this year's National Sweetcorn Festival, but attendees can be assured they will receive plenty of free buttered corn cooked in an antique steam engine and a chance to see some of the most talented ladies in the country in the National Sweetheart Pageant. Unlike local pageants, the contestants come from several states across the country to compete. Nine former contestants have went on to become Miss America!
