Lindley Sign Post Forest
Vermilion Advantage's Leadership Tomorrow Class 25 completed work on the Lindley Sign Post Forest this past weekend in Downtown Danville. The updates include flowing water features, landscaping, and newly stained sign posts!

Carl Lindley was a GI from Danville who became homesick while working on the Alaska Highway in 1942. He erected a sign at Watson Lake in the Yukon showing how far it was to his hometown of Danville, IL, 2835 miles. Since then, anywhere from 40,000-100,000  signs have been added to it at Watson Lake. The Danville version of the Sign Post Forest was originally built in 2010 along with the painting of the Walldog murals and include signs from Las Vegas, NV; Haynes, AK; and Tokyo, Japan!
