Luther hosts 'Lespwa f nou viv' Haiti benefit concert

 

Join Luther College on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the Haiti earthquake to celebrate the legacy of Luther alumnus Ben Splichal Larson and the faith, spirit and hope of the people of Haiti. Luther's Office for College Ministries is hosting "Lespwa f� nou viv," a benefit concert, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. An art exhibit featuring intricate drawings by Virginia artist Travis Head will be on display Jan. 15-March 7, in the Kristin Wigley-Fleming Fine Arts Gallery in the Center for the Arts. The drawings displayed in the exhibit "An Interior Life" are primarily rooted in the notion of "souvenir" art and commemorate the artist's experiences as well as what Head describes as the "personal mythology" made from his past. Read more... 


Luther College Nordic Choir, one of the top college choirs in the nation, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Center for Faith and Life. The performance by the 74-member Nordic Choir is the homecoming concert for the choir's 2014 tour of the Midwest and Texas. Read more...

Luther College student volunteers and dining service staff teamed up this fall to start a program that will help get good food to those who need it by delivering packaged food to the First Lutheran Church Food Pantry. Representatives from Luther's Center for Sustainable Communities and Dining Services, operated by Sodexo, are excited about the potential for this program to deliver healthy, homemade food into the homes of Northeast Iowans.
