Center Stage Series 2013-2014
 Center Stage Series: Tango Fire to perform Oct. 15

With daring routines bursting with drama, the Argentinian dance company Tango Fire will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall. The Tango Fire performance is part of Luther College's 2013-14 Center Stage Series of professional performing arts events. Luther to award 10 alumni with Distinguished Service Awards

Luther College Interim President David L. Tiede will present the Luther Distinguished Service Award to 10 alumni Friday, Oct. 4, at the Celebration of Distinguished Service following the Jazz Orchestra concert at 8 p.m. in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall on the Luther campus. The Distinguished Service Award, one of the highest honors bestowed by the college, is given in recognition of success and achievements in professional fields, service to society, contributions to community and loyalty and service to Luther.

Luther College presents 2013 Weston Noble Choral Award to Karen Gesme Brunssen 

 

Luther College has named Karen Gesme Brunssen, class of  1975 of Chicago, the 2013 recipient of the Weston Noble Choral Award for distinguished achievement in the field of voice and opera. Brunssen was recognized for her work as an outstanding educator, scholar and performer. Named for Weston Noble, Luther professor of music and conductor of the Nordic Choir from 1948-2004, the award honors music educators who continue the legacy of Noble, a teacher, clinician and director who influenced vocal music education in America and around the world.

Luther College's Balalaika Ensemble to perform Oct. 12

The Luther College Balalaika Ensemble will perform in concert at   7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus.

The concert is open to the public with no charge for admission, although a free-will offering is appreciated to benefit the Bruce and Amy Wrightsman Memorial Scholarship, which supports study abroad for Luther Russian studies students. Read more...
