Mastercarver, teacher and bestselling author, Floyd Scholz, long-time Hancock, VT resident and founder of the Vermont Raptor Academy, is recognized as one of the preeminent birdcarvers in the world today. Scholz's portrayals of eagles, hawks, owls and other species have won him an international following among museums and collectors.
Please join us as Floyd shares stories from his 43 years of birdcarving. Discussing the tools, techniques and thought process that shape the birds created on his workbench, Floyd will take us through his process of transforming an ordinary block of Tupelo wood into a majestic bird.

Audience members will have the first opportunity to enter a raffle for a chance to win a Redtailed Hawk Feather, carved and painted by Floyd, which he has generously donated to benefit BigTown Projects. Raffle tickets are $20; the drawing will be held November 30th.
