MASTERWORKS explores the personal collections of the late sculptor and printmaker Hugh Townley (1923-2008). The exhibition highlights specific artistic relationships and intellectual influences that had a significant impact on Townley's life and work. On display are two seminal masterworks by Marcel Duchamp: his 1934 piece Green Box and a 1953

Rotorelief. Also being shown are works by Jean Dubuffet, Salvador Dali, and H.C. Westermann. Prints by Townley's teacher Ossip Zadkine, as well as photographs by his friends Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind, are shown in a lively juxtaposition with pieces of Townley's own work, along with a lifetime of selected ephemera: exhibition posters, photographs and correspondence from fellow artists.

Hugh Townley's life-long creative relationship with Malcolm Grear is well-represented by the original vintage posters and catalogues by Malcolm Grear Designers.
