Dear MLEPC Members and Friends:

We need your support for worship on this coming Sunday, May 15, at our single unified service scheduled for 9:00 a.m.

For two reasons:

First, it is Youth Sunday. Our middle high and high school students have been preparing to lead us into the Lord's Presence this Sunday. Our adult volunteers have been right alongside them, helping to get them ready. Let's appreciate their efforts as we remember that they want to do this, despite the fact that we currently do not have a Youth Director. It would have been very understandable and much easier for the Youth to forego this annual service without a staff member to pull it together, but they didn't. Let's stand with them as we all stand before the Lord with our hearts open to Spirit-inspired worship on Sunday morning, 9 a.m. And let's all pray for God to guide us to the Youth Director of His choice, who can then step in with these dedicated young people and adult volunteers to continue to do great things for Christ in coming years!

Second, it is Pentecost and our annual Pentecost Missions Special Offering. As we know, at Pentecost, God the Father and Christ poured out the Holy Spirit on the 120 believers in the Upper Room. A mighty wind with tongues of fire alighted upon them. At that moment, they received power to become Christ's witnesses to Jerusalem, to Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). The rest of the book of Acts tells the story of how these excited and Spirit-filled Christians took the Good News to the Roman Empire. They were a church on a mission!

This summer, we look to be a church on a mission, too. Our local outreach features Mission Possible 9. Yes, this is our 9th season of dedicating an entire week to reach the South Hills of Pittsburgh with God's Word of Life. We want you to be one of the over 200 people who participate, so make sure to come to the Fellowship Hall on May 22, "Sign Up Sunday," to see all the exciting ministries for July 9-16, 2016. Our regional mission will be spearheaded by our Youth who are scheduled to go to the Wade Center in Bluefield, West Virginia, during the first week of July. There, they'll serve and share the Good News with kids who need the love of Christ. Our mission "to the ends of the earth" will send a full team of 15 to East Kano, Kenya the two weeks after Mission Possible 9 to participate in a revival campaign by our fellow Christians in that region. The team will provide many services to support the needs of the Kenyan people. And through faithful witnessing and preaching, they'll call people to be born again to a living hope in Jesus.

When you contribute your Pentecost Missions Special Offering, where will it go? One-third will benefit Mission Possible 9. One-third will help to support our Youth as they travel to Bluefield, WVA. And one-third will underwrite the international missions trip to East Kano, Kenya. So let's be generous in our financial support as our church family continues the mission begun by the Holy Spirit with God's people at first Pentecost.

So you see, we do need your support! See you on Youth/Pentecost Sunday as we present ourselves and our offerings with joy to Christ, our Savior and Lord.
