Dear MLEPC Members and Friends,

We continue our series on our equation for spiritual addition at MLEPC . . . 4 + 3 = 1. We minister to four life stages, namely, (1) Children--birth through fifth grade, (2) Youth--sixth grade through early twenties, (3) Adults--early twenties through to retirement, and (4) Senior Adults--retirement till glory! In all four life stages, we ask three questions: (1) How do we reach upward to God? (2) How do we reach outward with Good News to the world? And (3) how do we reach inward to bless fellow believers? When we do a great job of answering these three questions in all four life stages, we are one growing church family--4 + 3 = 1. In this week's letter, Bob Jamison, Director of our Adam's Quest Men's Ministry, tells us about some ways our MLEPC men are growing upward, outward, and inward to the glory of God. --

"Drivers, start your engines." That's what you hear at the start of a NASCAR race, right before the squealing of tires and the sound of automobiles straining to go from zero to 60 in a matter of seconds.

The men's ministry of the church, Adam's Quest, has passed the two-year mark -- the race's second lap -- and has developed several specialized ministries to grow men in the various life stages in which they find themselves and to deploy them as difference makers in the world for Christ.

Reveille gathers well over 100 guys for the quarterly men's breakfast to be encouraged in their faith and challenged to walk as brothers. This event provides an "easy invite" to friends who are just beginning to explore a relationship with Jesus.

Man Up
groups
take men through a rigorous, two-year experience to grow them as Christ-followers and to "reach inward" to develop meaningful friendships with other men.

The Tool Box sends teams of men to serve as the hands of the body of Christ - projects like painting, plastering, landscaping, helping folks to move.

Fatherhood is a high priority for our men, and dads have enjoyed the ManUp Pittsburgh Dads' Conference, the Daddy-Daughter Date and the Dads and Daughters Bowling Party for dads and their girls, and the Manly Camp for dads and their sons. Stay tuned for Cowgirls and Dads in the Saddle, a visit to a local horse ranch complete with a lesson in what it means to hand Jesus the reins of our lives.

Marriage ministry includes the Five Love Languages marriage seminar this year and the Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage video series in 2014 as well as last year's Valentine's Day dinner.

We think the Lord is moving in our midst to create (borrowing a movie title) men of all seasons.

In Christ,

Robert L. Jamison
