Online bullying has a lot in common with bullying in school: Both behaviors include harassment, humiliation, teasing and aggression. 
The Network for Public Education is an advocacy group whose goal is to fight to protect, preserve and strengthen our public school system, an essential institution in a democratic society.
How might this affect kids? Are they (the iPads) motivational? 
Chronic absenteeism-missing more than 10 percent of school a year-occurs at rates three to four times higher in high-poverty areas.
The success of any kind of social epidemic is heavily dependent on the involvement of people with a particular and rare set of social gifts.
I don't understand why Obama and Duncan have not taken a strong stand against the opening of for-profit charter schools--or for that matter, any stand at all.
