2012 Rotary Flag Project
Did you see the flags flying on Oak Bay Road over the Labor Day Weekend? They were part of an East Jefferson Rotary Club project!
A member(s) of the East Jefferson Rotary Club will install an American Flag five (5) times each year for a donation of $50 each year. The flag will be installed on President's, Memorial, Independence, Labor, and Veterans Days.
The installation involves the placing of a "semi-permanent" 13" tube in the ground. The tube in the ground is not easily visible when the flag is not displayed and will have a small removable cover to keep dirt and debris from clogging the tube. The flag is displayed on a 10' aluminum pole which is easily inserted in the tube for display. The flag will be displayed from early morning until evening on the designated days. Neighbors may choose to purchase several and display at the entrance to their neighborhood, or you may choose to have one posted in the front of your residence .
Any subscriptions ordered before Veteran's Day 2012 will include flag display on Veteran's Day this year AND all five (5) days in 2013 for a total of $50. An invoice will be sent to subscribers in January of 2014 and each subsequent January for $50 to cover display in 2014 in subsequent years.
Checks should be made out to East Jefferson Rotary Club. All funds collected for this project are designated for Rotary's scholarship fund which supports local deserving students and local schools.
(Discounted subscriptions are available for multiple flags in one area.)
